Nit-Pickers! (NYC, January 2008)

Here's a member of the Japanese Macaque family (aka, Snow Monkeys) living at the Central Park Zoo.

Zzzzzzzzzzolar Bear at the Central Park Zoo (NYC, January 2008)

The Central Park Zoo has two Polar Bears in residence. This is the female, I believe.

BiPolar Bear at the Central Park Zoo (NYC, January 2008)

The Central Park Zoo has two Polar Bears in residence. Here we see Gus (I believe) -- the male half of the pair. Gus is famous for having survived a serious battle with depression a few years back. Experts had to be called in, measures had to be taken... and he seems to be better these days. Can you blame him for being depressed? He use to have the Arctic and now he is confined to an enclosure at a city zoo with humans gawking at him all day, every day.
