Foggy Night (NYC, April 2008)

Here again is Manhattan's gorgeous Metropolitan Life Insurance Building (The "Met Life Tower"), seen soon after sunset. The fog was dancing off the top of all of the tall buildings, bathing each of them in their own light.
When this building was completed, in 1909, it was the the tallest building on Earth! It borders the east side of Madison Square Park which features an even more famous building on it's south side: The Flatiron Building (also, once, the tallest building on Earth).

A Golden Octogon (NYC, April 2008)

Sometimes, New York is simply breathtaking...
This lovely edifice is the NY Life Insurance Company Building. Located at the north east corner of Madison Square Park, it was built in 1928 at the site of the original Madison Square Garden (it has since moved three times). The NY Life Insurance Company building, known for its octagonal gilded spire, is seen here bathing in the golden glow of its own light, diffused by a thickening fog. This location is not only the birthplace of the world-famous Madison Square Garden (which has since moved several times), but is also the original home of the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus and was the "home" of boxing legend Jack Dempsey.

Majesty in the Metropolis (NYC, April 2008)

Sometimes, New York is full of majesty....
This gorgeous building is Manhattan's Metropolitan Life Insurance Building (The "Met Life Tower"), seen soon after sunset. The sky was a deep purple/blue and fog was dancing off the tops of tall buildings, bathing them in their own light. When this building was completed, in 1909, it was the the tallest building on Earth! It borders the east side of Madison Square Park which features an even more famous building on it's south side: The Flatiron Building (also, once, the tallest building on Earth).

Two Old Men And A Taxi (NYC, April 2008)
Two older men get out of a taxi as smoke billows from a nearby food vendor. Despite the fact that these men are both seniors, they look like they might also be father & son.
