R.I.P. (Rat in Peace) (NYC, December 2008)

A rat lies dead between the A-Train subway tracks at 168th St. in New York. Suddenly he looks so peaceful, so beautifully tragic. He must have lived a hard life. Worked hard. Loved hard. Did he leave hungry baby's behind? And what led to his untimely demise? Suddenly I don't hate him and he is my friend. Damn you Ratatouille! Sleep well my little buddy. Sleep well.

Orange State Building (November 2008)
The Empire State Building glows orange on a foggy night in November. The photo was taken on the Sunday night following Thanksgiving and the building was lit orange for the entire weekend in honor of the holiday. On a foggy night, when the Empire State Building is brightly lit -- it is a glorious spectacle.
