Growing (NYC, January 2009)

If you stand on 14th Street, in New York City, across the street from Union Square Park and look North (towards the park) you get this view. On the left is the world famous Empire State Building (on 34th St.) which was once the world's tallest building, three from the left you see the New York Life Building (25th St, by Madison Square Park), which was also once the world's tallest building, on the right is a Flag pole with Old Glory flying proudly. Two from the left is one of New York's newest addition: a tall, skinny new tower also going up on 23rd Street near Madison Square Park (which is also home to the Flat Iron Building, once... also the world's tallest building). Interesting how these four elements line up almost perfectly from this perspective.

Demonstrating (NYC, January 2009)

A street vendor demonstrates his "slicing, dicing" tool in the frigid January air on the sidewalk on 14th Street just across from Union Square Park in New York. And yes, he drew a small crowd. Do you think he takes his carrot thing a bit seriously?

Explaining (NYC, January 2009)

Three young women chat it up in the Frigid January air at union Square Park in New York City. Obviously, the one in the middle is explaining something very complex to the other two!

Searching (NYC, January 2009)

Oh, Nuts! A squirrel looks a bit lost and confused as he tries to track down his nuts in Union Square Park in New York City. It's all of those damned fallen leaves that are messing him up and driving him nuts!!!

Hugging (NYC, January 2009)

A street vendor was selling these salt & pepper shakers on 14th Street, in New York City, across the street from Union Square Park.
